Do I need to get a team before I sign up?

Nope! When you sign up, you can choose to create a team, join a team, or sign up as an individual. If you create a team, you'll receive a code to send to your friends so they can sign up and pay themselves. If you sign up as an individual, we'll assign you to a team.

What do I get with the game?

All players will receive:

  • Drink specials from the host bar
  • Professional emcee/host
  • A Dare Guide per team of up to 50 crazy dares
  • Custom engraved trophy for the winners
  • License to be socially invincible

How long does it last?

The actual game is usually 2 hours. We will have a half hour before and after the game to socialize, grab drinks and food, and award winners.

What is your refund policy?

There are no refunds if the event is held. The game goes on in light rain and in any temperature. If inclement weather or unforseen circumstances forces us to cancel the event, we will refund you in full.

When do I need to finalize my team?

Registration closes two days before the event. Please have your teams complete and paid before then.


How can I play?

Get your team, work, group, or friends together. It only takes one person to set up the event with us. Then you're only job is to bring the rest.

What do I need to do to book?

After we get the info we need, we'll require a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold the date. Final payment based on the number of players will be due one week before the event date. If ordering t-shirts or other merchandise, we'll need final payment two weeks before the event.

How many people do I need in my group?

There is a minimum of 10 players per game and no maximum.

How much does it cost?

Price depends on the specifics of your game and location. Prices can start at as little as $15 per person. There is a $500 minimum.

How do I set it up

You get your group together, let us know what features you want, and tell us what area you'd like to play in (i.e. Inner Harbor, Fell's Point, National Mall, etc.). We'll take care of the rest.

What is the refund policy?

There are no refunds if the event is held. The game goes on in light rain. If inclement weather or unforseen circumstances forces us to cancel the event, you can reschedule for another date within a year. If you wish to cancel completely and not reschedule, we will refund your payment minus a $200 deposit and any expenses already paid for your event, such as trophy cost, custom shirts, etc..

Can individuals pay for their spots?

Unfortunately no. We need full payment for the number of players upfront.


How do I submit the dares?

Dares are submitted through the Instagram mobile application. Each team will need at least one player with an Instagram account to submit them. Exact directions will be given at the event and will be on your Dare List.

What time should I show up?

We will have a half hour check-in before your game time starts. Everyone should show up at least 10 minutes before the scheduled game start time. Come early if you'd like time to socialize and get drinks.

What should I wear?

Whatever you're comfortable in! You will be walking around for 2-3 hours conquering dares so we suggest some comfortable shoes. Other than that, just keep in mind the weather. From our experience, crazy costumes only helps with the fun.

How does check-in work?

Check-in opens up a half hour before the game start. All players must sign a waiver. Right before the start time, our emcee will go over the rules and how to submit completed dares. Then the Dare Lists will be passed out and the game begins!

Is the event rain or shine?

Dare Theory is a rain or shine event. In the unfortunate case that extreme weather (ex. Lightning/Thunder, Tornados, Hurricanes, Armageddon) occurs and we have to cancel the event, we will notify the person who booked the event by phone. It will be his/her job to inform the rest of the guests as we won't have their contact info.

What types of things should I expect to be doing?

The Dare List is a heavily guarded secret up until the start. But you can expect three types of dares. Some will send you to a popular destination or attraction. Some will require you getting help from complete strangers. And others will be completed at a bar.


Is there an age limit?

Yes, all participants need to be 21 or older by the date of the event with a valid ID.

Is drinking involved?

Drinking alcohol will not be required to complete any dare. But we'll give everyone plenty of chances to get liquid encouragement. There will be drink specials and we can provide some free drinks for an add-on fee.

What if I don't want drinking at the event?

No problem. Just let us know when you are booking. We will find a starting and ending location that doesn't include a bar and no dares will involve drinking.
